Students will learn the skills necessary to convert a live animal into a packaged product ready to eat, paying particular attention to safe food preparation techniques and tool safety.  Students will have a hands-on, practical exercise involving live animals that they will get to take home for supper.

This camp is broken out into multiple sessions.  The most basic is Butchering Chickens which can be managed in a single camp. The advanced course is Butchering Large Animals. The Large Animal camp is broken into two: 1) Slaughtering and 2) Butchering and Packaging.  The Large Animal Camps will involve processing either a sheep, goat, or pig.

These camp will give your student the confidence necessary to know they can always provide for themselves and their families - if times get tough, or even if they don't.
